USB Guide Port Interface – Product Warranty: One year
Type of Product: Astro-Imaging > Imaging Accessories
This handy device enables autoguiding with the Orion Atlas and Sirius EQ-G GoTo and SkyView Pro GoTo mounts from a computer. You’ll need a PC or laptop computer, a CCD camera suitable for autoguiding (such as the Orion StarShoot Deep Space Imaging Camera), autoguiding software (like MaxIm DL or MaxIm DL Essentials), and a guide scope. The GPUSB adapter plugs directly into a USB port on your computer. Using an RJ-12 cable (10′ cable included), the adapter connects to the autoguider port of your mount, enabling the autoguiding camera to “talk” to the mount through the computer and through the GPUSB. This adapter requires no external power source, since it receives its power via USB from your computer. For software packages that use ASCOM to interface to the GPUSB, you can download the ASCOM platform from ascom-standards.org, then download and install the GPUSB ASCOM driver.
